This experimental documentary is using the juxtaposition of two seemingly unrelated elements to allow a poetic truth to become apparent. An interview with a blind Anglo-Irishman is intercut with imaginary shots of Nicaragua by the interviewer/filmmaker. The man speaks about his visual lexicon, and describes some of the imagery we see on screen, as he has memorized from the descriptions the filmmaker has given him earlier. The construction and production if imagery, notions of unseeing, social construction and ethics of “third world” image production are explored with a provocatively simple mechanism.
