In the 1970s, anthropologist and archaeologist Edmund Carpenter moved seventeen derelict 17th and 18th century buildings to a property on the Atlantic Ocean in East Hampton, NY, and restored them as residences. When the property was sold in 2006, the buildings were donated to the town to be repurposed as the city hall. This film explores the estate before it was sold, moving the buildings, and their reconstruction as city offices.
