RAI Festival Dinner at Shabab Restaurant

In line with the ‘India Day’ theme of the festival, we end the festival - and start the conference - on Saturday evening with a celebratory meal at Leeds’s lavish Shabab restaurant. www.shabab.uk.com
The restaurant is just a short walk from the Rose Bowl, and will be the ideal venue to follow the festive Awards Ceremony, so please join us for dinner – bookings should be made below if you didn’t include it in your festival registration.

Menu: Four course buffet consisting of popadoms, chutnies and salads followed by a variety of up to 6 appetisers including vegetarian, sea food and poultry (e.g. onion bhajis, samosa, spring rolls, chicken tikka, seekh kebabs and fish pakoras). This will be followed by at least 8 choices of main dishes covering a range of mild, medium and hot recipes of lamb, chicken, fresh vegetables and lentils such as rogan josh, tikka masala, makhani, balti, etc. accompanied with two types of rice and nans. For desert there will be a selection of ice creams.

About this Festival

Sponsored by the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain & Ireland (RAI) since 1985, it is an itinerant festival that moves biennially from one university host to another, in association with local community and cultural organisations.

The festival was held from Wednesday July 1st to Saturday July 4th 2009, and included over 50 hours of screenings of new films, a major international conference, and a targeted selection of events focusing on anthropological ethics in filmmaking, youth participatory film, and archiving ethnographic film.
