Life and work of an extraordinary old man, Dukkushyam Chitrakar, painter, composer, singer, well loved in rural West Bengal as a poet and mystic of legendary proportions.

Dukkushyam is a charismatic figure, one who departs from convention, most importantly in encouraging women to take up the traditional craft of scroll painting and musical composition, pursued exclusively by men before.

The film bears witness to Dukkushyam's life, his vision for the rebirth of his art, his tolerant Sufi spirituality, his knowledge of changing artistic techniques, his religion as a way of life, his legacy for future generations.
