The programme consists of around 45 hours of new ethnographic films or films in related social and cultural documentary genres. These are presented in two or three simultaneous strands over four days, from Wednesday 27 June to Saturday 30 June, from 9am to 6pm daily with additional evening screenings on Thursday 28 June and Friday 29 June, 7-9pm.
In addition to the prize screenings, there is a programme of 'special screenings' dedicated to particular themes or topics.
On Saturday 30 June, there will an entire day of screenings dedicated to films of an ethnographic character about China directed by Chinese filmmakers. These will be distributed across two strands, one dealing with traditional rural subjects, the other with contemporary social change, totalling some 10 hours in all.
These screenings will be referred to as 'China Day' and a detailed programme will be announced shortly.
China Day will conclude with a banquet in the nearby Tai Pan Restaurant. Please see the Catering page for information on how to purchase tickets for the banquet
