Suzette Heald Suzette Heald teaches anthropology at Lancaster University where she recently set up the degree programme in Culture and Communication. She has a long-standing interest in film and in 1988 completed Imbalu: Ritual of Manhood of the Gisu of Uganda with Richard Hawkins.)

Melissa Llewelyn Davies

Marc Piault Marc Henri Piault, Directeur de Recherche at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), teaches visual anthropology at the EHESS and Political Anthropology at the Sorbonne. He has made films in Africa (Niger, Nigeria) and Southern France. Besides his interest for politics and religious beliefs in Africa, is developing research in the field of 'spiritual transits' ('parcours spirituels') among Brasilian intellectual middle-class networks
