Accommodation Arrangements:

The Festival Office at Kent will be able to assist in arranging hotel and bed & breakfast accommodation at reasonable prices in Canterbury. Accommodation assistance will also be available to visiting student participants. NB. The festival will be held in UKC's Grimond Building which provides full access for participants with disabilities.

Travel Arrangements:

Within the UK: Canterbury is located in the south-east of England and is easily accessible from London and the major air and sea ports.

By Road: Canterbury is 56 miles by motorway from London.

By Rail: Trains run regularly from London's Victoria, Charing Cross and Waterloo East Stations. Journey time c. 85 mins.

Taxis and a regular bus service are available between Canterbury's East and West Stations and the University.

From Abroad:

Rail: EUROSTAR from Paris, Brussels and Lille. Change at Ashford Station for Canterbury West.


Sea & Rail: Calais to Dover - c. 75 mins by Ferry, 35 mins by Hovercraft. Ostend to Dover - c. 210 mins by Ferry, 90 mins by Jetfoil. Trains run direct from Dover Priory to Canterbury East (c. 30 mins).


Air: From London Heathrow Airport: Underground to Victoria Rail Station, train to Canterbury East. From London Gatwick Airport, Gatwick Express train to Victoria Station, train to Canterbury East.
