Ethnographic Film Festival

The International Festival of Ethnographic Film
is a biennial
event organised by the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain
and Ireland (RAI). The Festival is peripatetic and in previous years
has been held in London (1985), Manchester (1990 & 1992), and
Canterbury (1994). It is based around the screening of films entered
for the various RAI film prizes. It also generally features additional
events such as seminars, workshops, special lectures, a video library,
masterclasses, etc. This year it will again be held in Canterbury
and will include the following highlights:
Conference of Filming Rainforest Peoples conference
Conference on Photography in Ethnographic Research and Representation
Exhibition: Photography in Anthropology
Conference on Television & Anthropology and the Anthropology of Television.
Workshop on Anthropology in Cyberspace (title to be confirmed)
